Ben Hur Water Trailer G-527 “Water buffalo”

The Ben Hur trailers were nicknamed after its major manufacturer, the Ben–Hur Mfg. Co., although there were many other companies that produced it between 1941 and 1945. Its primary purpose was to transport general cargo; but the G-527 modification is a 250-gallon water trailer.
The tank was towed with a universal lunette eye for a number of vehicles, especially the GMC 353.

The G-527 can be found in TM 9-883 and is listed in the U.S. Military Vehicle Group G list by delivery catalog designation (Ordnance). Group G serial numbers were marked to match the classification "Tank/Automotive Material".
